What is the goal or mission of the Handyman Ministry?
The Handyman Ministry is open to men and women who want to honor God by making our place of worship safe, efficient, and attractive.  Another objective is to provide opportunities for fellowship with other Christians as we work together.

What kind of projects will be worked on?
Almost anything you can think of.  Here are some examples:
     Working in flower beds
     Trimming bushes
     Lawn sprinkler repair
     Roof / gutter repair
     Outside clean-up
     Painting
     Carpentry work / deck repair
     Electrical work
     Furniture repair
     Inside clean-up
     Organizing spaces
     Plumbing repairs

There will be opportunities to work in groups, too.  Occasionally, we will call a work day and folks can show up to work together.  A group of ladies or a Shepherd Group can take on a painting project or select other needs around the church.

Do I need special skills to work on a project?
Some projects require skill in an area to obtain an excellent result.  Other projects simply require a willingness to spend some time working with others to get a job done.

Who will decide the people who will work with me on a project?
If you can assemble someone or a small group to help you, that will be great.  Otherwise, let the Handyman Coordinator know your needs and he will get help for you.

Where do I get the tools to work on a project?
A few tools will be located in the Handyman Closet.  However, often people are more comfortable with their own familiar tools in accomplishing a project.

Where do I get materials to work on a project?
Materials will be available for you to use on your project.  You are not expected to use your personal funds.  If you spend any money on materials, you will be promptly reimbursed.  Write your name on any receipts and place in the receipt box in the Handyman Closet.

When can I work on my project?
We want to be as flexible as possible.  The church is open most days and when it is not, we will provide a key or a person to work with you who has a key.  People with flexible schedules will often want to work during the week.

What happens when I complete my project?
You will sign off on the Master Project List in the Handyman Closet and log the number of man-hours the project took.  We will keep track and report on the progress we are making.

What if I want to do a project that is not on the list?
Write up your project and submit to the Handyman Coordinator and he will obtain approval for your project.

How do I know what projects are the most important?
The Project List will have a priority attached to each project with "A" being the highest priority.
